Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Accountant with strong Epicor ERP expertise to oversee cost accounting functions that drive financial accuracy and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and analyzing product costs, monitoring inventory valuation, and ensuring cost data integrity within Epicor. This role requires a blend of accounting acumen, manufacturing process understanding, and ERP system proficiency to support management in strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
- Utilize and review standard costs, bill of materials (BOMs), and routings in Epicor ERP to ensure accurate product costing and inventory valuation
- Perform cost roll-ups, analyze manufacturing variances, and investigate discrepancies between standard and actual costs
- Collaborate with operations, engineering, and purchasing teams to ensure cost accuracy and timely updates to material and labor standards
- Monitor work-in-progress (WIP), finished goods, and inventory transactions to ensure accurate posting and financial reporting
- Generate cost reports and dashboards within Epicor to support management decision-making and identify cost improvement opportunities
- Support month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and cost of goods sold (COGS) analysis
- Assist in annual budgeting and forecasting processes related to standard costs and production overheads
- Participate in system and process improvement initiatives to optimize cost accounting workflows and ERP data integrity
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3+ years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong working knowledge of Epicor ERP (costing, production, and inventory modules preferred)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, variance tracking, and reporting
- Strong understanding of standard cost systems, manufacturing variances, and inventory control
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively across departments, including production, purchasing, engineering, and finance
- Experience with process improvement or ERP implementation projects is a plus
- CPA or CMA certification is a plus
