Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Buyer to support day-to-day purchasing activities in a manufacturing environment. Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, this role focuses on executing purchase orders, monitoring supplier performance, and coordinating closely with production, stockroom, and engineering to ensure materials and components are available on time. The ideal candidate has strong Epicor ERP experience, a solid understanding of manufacturing processes, and the ability to interpret technical or mechanical information to bridge communication between engineering and purchasing.

Key Responsibilities
- Execute purchasing activities using Epicor ERP, including creation, tracking, and reconciliation of purchase orders
- Collaborate with production, stockroom, and engineering teams to align purchasing plans with operational and customer needs
- Review engineering drawings and BOMs to ensure correct parts and materials are ordered
- Monitor supplier performance, lead times, and order status to ensure timely delivery and minimize disruptions
- Analyze purchasing data and generate ERP-driven reports to support informed decision-making and process improvements
- Evaluate and support sourcing initiatives to optimize cost, quality, and supplier reliability
- Maintain accurate purchasing and supplier records in Epicor, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and overall procurement workflows
Qualifications & Skills
- 3+ years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong experience with ERP systems; hands-on experience with Epicor strongly preferred
- Comfortable reading engineering drawings or understanding mechanical components
- Raw materials or subcontracted parts purchasing experience is a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, for reporting, analysis, and tracking
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across departments
- Experience leading or contributing to process improvement initiatives is a plus
